I got into NYU with a 3.2 GPA, no test scores, no clubs or honors, and one extracurricular. How? I had an essay that separated me from the thousands of other applicants. Why? Because it captured who I am, where I come from, and what I stand for. It was something only I could write.

Now, I work with students to help them do the same.

Let’s be honest. Most college essays don’t really sound like the students writing them. They sound like they’re either trying too hard to impress admissions officers, or overwhelming them with trauma. But the truth is, the strongest essays, the ones that actually make a reader pause and feel something, are not just about achievements. Instead, they show a unique perspective and clear growth.
